Common Moorhen

A moorhen stands on a bed of dried, yellow leaves, in front of a pond, in this mid shot. The bird has mostly dark gray and brown plumage, with white feathers at the tail. It has a red beak with a yellow tip. The bird looks around briefly and then reaches down into the leaves to search for food.
