There is simply no idea too grand for Grayson Sands.

“I went through this phase where I’d make a video about literally any idea that popped into my head.

“I grew a garden in the back of my Jeep because it was always left with the roof off and was getting rained on anyway.

“When I find something that genuinely excites me, I just want to throw myself into it. I want to figure out how to make it work.”

And this obsession shows. Just take a look at his design trend breakdown video. The attention to detail and passion are clear. So, here are some other things Grayson is obsessed with right now.

What song are you obsessed with?

A song called Spacey by The Rose Hips.

My wife showed it to me, and I’ve been listening to it on repeat ever since. I’m actually recording a cover of it this month.

What’s a film you’re obsessed with?

Honestly… I don’t really watch films. I watch YouTube. Lately, I’ve been watching MKBHD’s second channel, Autofocus. I’m not even a huge car person, but I love how simple the videos are.

They’re filmed almost entirely on an iPhone with really minimal editing. It’s made me think a lot about simplifying my own videos.

What’s a food you’re obsessed with?

Duck eggs. Some family members have ducks, and nobody wants the eggs except me. So I hard-boil this giant batch every week and keep them in the fridge. They’re about three times the size of chicken eggs. It probably sounds strange, but I love them.

What’s something in your creative process that you obsess over that other people might overlook?

Admin. People probably assume I’m this chaotic creative because of all the painted furniture and weird projects. But I spend a lot of time on the business side. Updating brand guidelines. Building stationery. Organizing finances. That’s probably where more of my time goes than people realize.

What’s something you obsessively tell yourself over and over again?

Stay disciplined.

When you’re working on things you genuinely love, it’s really easy to jump between ideas. I constantly have to remind myself to stay focused. Sometimes I’d rather be out kayaking than sitting at my desk.

But if I want to keep building the things I care about, discipline has to come first.
